See some of my commissioned designs and a “guide” cost from which you may budget for my work. I realize that these designs can be “cribbed” and copies manufactured directly from them. You (and particularly students) are welcome to print them off. I am pleased to be able to share my years of industry with you. However, if you are committed to a project, whether you are a private individual or a developer then my creative experience will help you to get it right. I am sure you will find that it will be a sound investment to employ me to design for you. In some cases the customer has used my designs to tender for a suitable manufacturer, in others I have helped to source a joinery firm. I may be able to help you if you are not able to use your own builders or manufacturer. As a rough guide each of my designs will cost about 10% of the manufacturing cost or £250.00, whichever is the greater; to which is added the cost of travel, parking etc, (please also see my terms and conditions). Print off these designs and working drawings and study their detail (a high quality laser printer produces good results, ink-jet printers tend to run and blur). They are drawn from my 27 yrs. of experience. Be the judge of my worth; “If you can draw it, you can make it!” |

The customer could not decide upon the most efficient use of this very small room as a bedroom for a studious teenager with a full size single bed, hanging space, shelves and bookshelves. Simon Spencer Designs came up with the three possible solutions from which it was clear as to which was going to be most efficient. Each design would cost about £350.00, so the total cost would be about £1,000.00. But it would be well invested in determining the correct answer to the problem. Note:- in the right hand upper corner the stairway curved into ceiling in the room which restricted use of the upper space in that area. |

This very small room on the half landing required to have a study designed to best advantage. Simon Spencer realized that there would be one view of the desk and bookcases as you descended the stairs and another view as you ascended the stairs from the hall. Simon Spencer designed the study to have mirror aspect so that they would balance seen from both approaches but retaining the light from the Georgian window. The problem of sitting space was overcome by recessing and panelling the space opposite and behind the desk chair. The cost of Simon’s unique concept, design and drawings as seen in the three images below would be about £700.00 |

The top floor of this London house was divided into two rooms and Simon was asked to design a minimalist style, double wardrobe with existing writing desk and bookshelves between; making allowances in his scheme for removal of partition walls to provide for an en-suite bathroom in the smaller room, but to allow full spans of the windows for light. Blinds were to be fitted - not curtains. The two wardrobes were of differing depths to allow for a larger bathroom and clear window access. The cost of this design, including Simon’s recommendation for the new room and bathroom lay out and adjustments to doors and walls would be about £650.00. Note: that to the left full depth hanging was provided and to the right narrow hanging, shelves and standard product wire pull out tray baskets. |
